leather record journal book is in good conditon for being from civil war era. From what ive lesrned after scanning the pages of this interesting piece is that its not in fact from my family history as i had thiught. We werent that awsome.
I researched this family and found that they lived in winterset and her husband had passed in the civil war. She had six kids and her name was Sarah Armstrong. She was in her 30s when she became a war widow taking care of her children, while also being the head of the land and farming.. as well as record keeping for he areas church and cemerary. She has records of deaths and plot money paid. Coordinates for land they owned and rented.
